I work at IBM and there was a shitload of useless middle managers there.

Most of their days were spent surfing the internet in their cubicles.

Us workers doing the real work didn't need or really even want them around.

Then came some major rounds of layoffs and they gradually laid off most of them.

It didn't even make a difference when they were gone. Projects still got done properly and on time.

We all wondered why they were even there in the first place. We didn't need them babysitting us. We are all professionals.

All they ever did was delegate the work and go to useless meetings.

The middle managers often made us less efficient. We work better with them one.

Middle managers are generally useless from my experience.

The good ones sat in their office all day and didn't meddle in our work.

The more indifferent they are the better the department works.

The best middle managers know that they are useless and stay out of sight and out of mind.

Middle management is a job for stupid people because stupid people have no shame.

Normal intelligent people would feel embarrassment and shame at bossing
